I'm not sure if they changed ownership in the past 6-months, but the brisket in this photos is not what they were serving. What I had was more like roasted beef with smoke flavoring... and not much of it. The texture was reflective of that, too; mushy and watery flavored. Anyway, the photo says it all. You can see there's no smoke layer, nor bark from being inside of a smoker.
To add insult to injury, I ordered a double portion, so my dinner was $35. I would've been better off getting prime rib at Cafe ole.
Also, the Mac & cheese is basic (maybe even Velveeta), not the multi-cheese they claimed. And, I'm not sure what took 20-minutes to get my food out? Everything should've already been cooked. Even the corn bread was soppy and cool.
The brisket was definitely some of the best I've ever had. Burnt ends were delicious! Restaurant is in an area with a LOT of other restaurants, parking was difficult to find in the evening.
Great local place for BBQ. Outstanding food and service. The owner came out and talked with us about how he started, and was very hospitable. Sampler is the way to go. Cornbread was best I have ever had, brisket, chicken, burnt ends. Were amazing. We will definitely make this a must every time we come to Maui.
We had dinner at fat daddy's smokehouse and the food was delicious. Eric was very friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. He knew the food well and could tell he enjoyed it himself. This is not a super fancy smoke house nor should a smoke house be super fancy. Fat daddy's smokehouse has a real classic smokehouse vibe and is a must try should you ever visit Maui.
WOW!! This was soo delicious!! We had all the meats which were exceptional!! The cornbread was the best I’ve ever had!! Brisket soooo good and tender! The chicken and ribs also soo delicious and tender. The kindest service most hospitable service!
We are vacationing in Maui and felt like barbecue, so we headed to nearby Fat Daddy's Smokehouse. We were warmly welcomed at the counter and the menu was clearly listed on the blackboard on the wall behind the counter. We ordered our food and in a short time it was delivered to the table. I ordered St. Louis ribs. They were smoky, meaty, and delicious. My wife ordered brisket. She shared some with me and it was lean, smoky, and tasty. My sister ordered chicken and shared a bite with me. It was smoky, moist, and flavorful. We also had a variety of sides: The Carolina slaw was crisp and tangy. The red bliss potato salad was creamy with a hint of dill. The cornbread had the perfect texture and sweetness (not too sweet). The mac 'n cheese had a velvety texture. Everyone in our party thoroughly enjoyed their meals. The food and service were both quite good. We left satisfied and happy. Fat Daddy's Smokehouse is a great place for barbecue in Kihei.
Delicious. I got the pulled chicken sandwich with a side salad and added a side of corn bread and truffle mac and cheese. I loved everything and would eat here again. My husband liked the beans, Carolina slaw, and pulled pork.
Food was fantastic! The corn bread yumm!! Met the owner and he was great! Would definitely come back here for BBQ.
